Interserve RENEWABLES - The Route to Sustainability

Construction

Interserve has an established track record in sustainable construction of the built environment. This includes the incorporation of sustainable raw materials and technologies and the adoption of innovative construction techniques.

The processing of demolition arisings on site turns them into a valuable resource for use in the construction process, reducing the number of vehicle movements to and from the site and helping to minimise the noise and nuisance impact on the local community.

Bio-remediation of contaminated land on site can prevent both the need to dispose of materials as hazardous waste and to reduce the requirement to import raw materials onto site.

The construction process can have an immediate adverse effect on the land but Interserve works to ensure that this is actively managed and that we have no negative impact and where possible we enhance the environment. In managing construction work at High Wycombe, we ensured the protection of the Grimms Ditch archaeological site together with the preservation of mature trees and badger sets.
