Delivering world-class facilities in health

Leeds Primary Foundation Trust

The PCT is responsible for ensuring that the people of Leeds have access to the health services they need, along with directly providing a wide range of community-based services across the city.

Interserve was selected to design, finance, construct and operate two new build Community Units for the elderly. Both units, a 20,613m² facility at Millside, & Towngate House, a 14531m² building, opened in September 1998. Each community unit now has a residential unit, which houses 25 mental health patients, and up to 30 day hospital patients. It also includes weekly clinics and also provides two office bases for local Community Teams for the Elderly.

Our relationship with the Trust was first identified as PFI contract, as cost and location of the new build were paramount. This style of PFI partnership was one of the first of its kind.
