Delivering world-class facilities in health

Design

Service Modelling and DesignA successful project must not only be based on sound architectural and engineering design, but on its ability to provide the right environment for its purpose. In a hospital, this has never been more important - ample room for patients, materials that are easy to clean and maintain, whilst being an accessible and secure space are the crux of this environment. By taking into consideration a hospital’s purpose, we are able to create a functionally-led design that is specific to the operational and maintenance issues that the facility will face throughout its working life.

Design is not specific to a building’s inception; it also includes service modelling, space planning and refurbishment. Our operation in these environments is the only true way to understand how clinical flows, facilities management flows and visitor flows impact on the building’s suitability.

interserve innovation & flexibilityProject Apollo was designed specifically to identify efficiencies throughout our service disciplines and make significant service improvements. One such example was the identification of a porter walking in excess of 8 miles a day - reviewing the porters’ working patterns, helps us to understand the improvements that can be made to the service model. You can access our skills through Traditional procurement or through ProCure21 in England and ‘Designed for Life’ in Wales.
